About PWT
History

The idea of an inland grain terminal in the Plenty/Dodsland area was spawned in the spring of 1994 and was rooted in the concerns of railline abandonment, deteriorating of rural communities accross Saskatchewan, and access to alternative delivery points. Working in joint-venture with Alberta Wheat Pool (Agricore), our facility took shape over the 1997/1998 winter and opened its doors for grain deliveries in August of 1998. In the fall of 2001 Prairie West Terminal purchased two wooden facilities in the communities of Plenty & Dodsland to be used as Malting Barley storage facilities. In August of 2002 Prairie West Terminal, with the support of it's shareholders, purchased Agricore's interest in the operation becoming the second 100% producer owned inland grain terminal in Western Canada.
